The Kivell, Ward and Doughty families gratefully thank the Kingsmill family for supplying the information that we have been looking for, for many years.
THE BUTLER FAMILY
John Kivell, (with no definite date of arrival in New Plymouth, maybe 1854?) married Mary Jane Old on the 31-12-1855 in St Mary's Church, New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. Richard Old and wife Jane (Liddycoat) arrived in New Plymouth aboard the ship "Essex" on the 20-01-1843 from Cornwall, England with 10 of their 11 children with Mary Jane Old being one of the children.
Born in Aettenschwil, Aargau, Switzerland on the 30 Oct 1860 Josef Felix BUTLER travelled to New Zealand at the age of 24 in 1884. At the age of 26 Josef married Maria Idda FISCHER who had travelled to New Zealand three years earlier (with her mother). They were married at the Roman Catholic Church Inglewood NZ on 31 Oct 1886, they then lived on Norfolk Road, Inglewood.
