On the 14 January 1886 at Wade Registry Office Jacob FISCHER married Mary MOFFATT who became ill with Alzheimer's Disease. Jacob died age 90 in Middlemore Hospital after falling and fracturing his hip at the hospital. He is interred at the Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland. They had three children John, Ruby and Leslie FISCHER.
